"... Wow." You know, Ava already knew that, but she appreciates the Reader's Digest version of her time here. Her hand flies to her heart, as if to clutch at an invisible necklace. "Right to the point."
Captain Charles Vane is a man who doesn't waste time, it seems.

"So uh, Captain ... Mr. Vane. Charlie. Babe." Her face scrunches in curiosity. "It's not that I don't believe in love at first sight ...? But what exactly made you decide you had to get married right now. That's a pretty big decision where I come from."
He raises an eyebrow as she figures out what to call him, then finally his face breaks into a big smile and he reaches for his tome and then flips to the conversation with Glinda and shows it to her.
Then she giggles. There's kind of a hoarse quality to the sound, like her talent for laughter has gone rusty.
"Uhhh, me too dude." Not that she has people banging down her door, but getting hitched could be great advertising. "But I don't know: free food, a nice dress, presents ... and I don't have to mail any invitations!" Her nose wrinkles. "Besides, this doesn't really matter, does it? We're gonna forget once we go home."
"I assume we won't, besides, are you from Nassau in 1715? If not the chance that we're going back to each other is low." He chuckles. Presents and food sound nice. The rest of it... Eh...
"Noooo," Ava admits, amused, "I am definitely not."
She glances between Glinda's message in Vane's tome and his face. He's handsome. Unclear how dumb he is yet--more dumb would be preferable, but she can work with smart. And if she bangs hubby on the regular, she could get her powers back.
"I'm ... kind of thinking I wanna see if this lady's serious." She grins at him, mischievous. "What else is there to do around here, right?"
"Why should we do that part..." He thinks about it for a moment. "Alright, just so you know, I don't plan on being serious about this marriage. I mean I'll marry you but do you really think I make a good husband?"
Go getting attitude is a fun way to describe exactly what he has and he can't help but grin at that. As well as having a job, well... He was without a ship right now and banned, so it was worse than normal. On the other hand he had been working for Damen in the forge so that might count.
"A pirate captain." He corrects her, a note of pride in his voice. "One of the most feared ones. So you might want to reconsider that."
Not that she'd feel bad about marrying some sweet dumdum, but this could be an aaaaactually decent Vegas wedding. She's got stuff in common with pirates: crooked morality, ambition. Creative forms of violence.
Ava's nose wrinkles.
"Well I don't have a ship for you to steal, so I'll take my chances." She peers. "Do you like rum? I mostly have it in daiquiris, but I could learn to drink it straight!"
She is a lot less concerned about that than any proper lady would be so that means she most likely isn't a proper lady. Which is just as well, a lady isn't what he'd want anyway. He wants someone who can keep up with him.
"Of course I like rum, but I'll take any booze. How about we go get a drink or something like that?" Because fuck he needs something strong right now. Preferably a lot of it.
